Dr. Kerrick is the Dean of Bellarmine University’s Rubel School of Business. Previously she was the Associate Director of the Forcht Entrepreneurship Center at the University of Louisville’s College of Business (2002-2016) teaching in the MBA, coaching business plans teams and founder of the undergrad Entrepreneurship Minor. She has been an invited guest speaker on the topic of entrepreneurship to several countries including Russia, Czeck Republic and Greece. She has published research in the areas of entrepreneurship, e-learning and financial literacy. Her work has been referenced by Forbes
Prior to joining U of L, she was one of the founders of a technology firm for nearly 20 years that grew to employ over 300 full time staff and had offices in 5 states. She is also the founder of “VetStart” a community program that has assisted/started businesses with over 81 military veteran owned companies since 2012. She was named Kentucky's 2015 Small Business Administration (SBA) Veteran's Small Business Advocate of the Year. In 2017, she was named to Business First’s Hall of Fameandalsoto the National Association of Women Business Owners Kentuckiana Hall of Fame. In 2018, she was elected as VP of Research for the national Small Business Institute (smallbusinessinstitute.biz). Today’s Woman magazine named her “Most Admired” in Education in June, 2018.
She has served on many boards, currently she is the chair of the Better Business Bureau Board and secretary for the National Association for Women Business Owners Foundation) she also serves on Louisville Water Company Board (public company) and Junior Achievement Board.She has received numerous awards and recognition including Business First’s 40 Under 40, Greater Louisville Inc.’s Technologist of the Year, Women 4 Women Champions for Her, Junior Achievement Worldwide Leadership Award, National Association of Women Business owner’s finalist and the prestigious U of L Paul Weber Campus wide Teaching Excellence award ($10,000), Faculty Favorite and many other teaching and service awards. She has advised and coached hundreds of business startups as well as been on the advising team for two MBA teams that both won the Global Ventures business plan competition one in 2011 and the other in 2015 (beating Northwestern, Rice, Johns Hopkins and the like)! Each team invited her to join them to ring the bell at NASDAQ both teams won over $500,000 each.
