Professor Boucher-Fabel's career focus is in cybersecurity, systems engineering, and project management in the fields of higher-education and space and defense. She works partly with NASA in cybersecurity and full-time as a Department Chair in cyber in higher-education/college administration.
Ms. Fabel is or has been engaged with the National Air and Space Education Institute, National Cyber League, the Air Force Cyber Patriot Program, NASA Community College Scholars Program, InfraGard, Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) community, and as an Education Officer in the United States Air Force Auxiliary Kentucky Wing. She is certified in ethical hacking and digital forensics along with multiple industry IT certifications.
Further, she has worked in systems engineering for NASA and the Department of Defense in industry. Brandi was thrilled to work alongside experts at Glenn Research Center until August of 2018 and thanks them for their valuable time and guidance. She is excited to return to GRC full time in June 2019! Meanwhile, Brandi continues to work with NASA from Indiana lending her skills to several proposals, such as the Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP) and the NASA Space Technology Research Fellowship program (NSTRF), among others. She also works with the Institute of Electric and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) in research and peer reviews.
In personal life, Ms. Fabel enjoys adventure hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, travel, crossfit, writing articles and publications for lupus awareness (a fight she personally knows), competitive shooting sports (3-Gun), and raising her pygmy goats.
